This multimedia kit is an interactive resource for early literacy, with a special focus on phonics. It contains two disks of stories and activities for listening, phonemic awareness, rhyme, concepts about print, letter-sound knowledge and a basic sight vocabulary. Teacher's notes are included. A separate assessment disk allows children to complete a 'quiz' which assesses their learning from the stories and activities included on the main disks.

In Sounds Great! each story focuses on an initial consonant and a short vowel within a rhyme:

'-at' as in cat and sat
'-et' as in net and pet
'-ig' as in dig and big
'-og' as in dog and fog
'-ug' as in bug and rug
